Flashback April 1994
watching graphic scenes
off your tv screens
yet it seems-
our screams were silent
don’t understand it-
The UN said it’s
not enough to demand it-
should be stopped-
Rwanda’s cries
in the news-
the world watched
CNN BBC
like movie-
they had eyes on us
but they could’t not to see
genocide had us terrorized
victimized but no one realized
So many lost ones.
so many orphans
so many guns
so many machetes
so many people on ,their knees
so many unheard prayers
begging ,God please
so many questions
so little answers
so much hate
so many late
aunties and uncles
mummies and Daddies
so much pain
so much wrong fame for my 250
so many bruises
so many sores
so many terrible stories
so many tears so many fears
so many memories so little pictures
so many mixtures of emotions
so much confusion
so much need to move ahead
so we agreed to put it in for unity
good morning to our viewers and listeners
it is April 7th 2015
and today Rwandans all over the world Commemorate the Genocide against the
tutsi that happened 21 years ago-
We have a special guests here, in the studio from Rwanda,
who are to tell us- what its like to be a young adult, coming from and living
Rwanda today-thank you all for joining us— the floor is yours
where we would doubt
now there is dreams
where we were hopeless
now we are hopeful
the faces we used to cry on
we put a smile on
where we were fearful
now we are fearless
where there was hate
now there is love
where we were broken
we put it together
where there was pain,
now there is pleasure
where there was rain
now there is sunshine
what was division
now is unity
what there was confusion
now is clarityhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJB83Zei6N4
